Huggy Bear is coming back…

Posted by ech1 on April 5, 2007

It appears that Bob Huggins is coming back to the Big East to take over for Beilein in Morgantown.

The folks at Cincy cannot be happy.

Holy shit, this is huge for the Big East. Sucks to be K-State! Losing Beilein was a killer for the league–that dude is a genius, and great at getting maximum success out of limited talent. But Huggins is an upgrade over Beilein and better than anyone else they possibly could have snagged (though he’s also a giant douchebag). He’s a recruiting monster, made the NCAAs 14 years in a row, and has a FF appearance under his belt. He’s a big name to add to the Calhoun, Boeheim, Pitino, JTIII, Dixon, Wright team. Christ, that’s a lot of big name coaches. Plus Huggins is such a cock that he’s a rivalry waiting to happen for all the other teams. Playing West Virginia is about to be way different, not least because of the 100% different style of ball they’re about to play.

I’m absolutely stunned by this, since K-State is about to bring in the top recruiting class in the nation.

How much do you want to bet there is some shady stuff going on with this super class, and he’s decided to bolt before anything hits the fan…? After all, this is Kansas State we’re talking about. Not exactly a traditional college hoops superpower. The fact that they were able to land three top-10 recruits from the HS class of ’07 always seemed a little suspicious.
