Best And Worst at MSG

Posted by Jer on January 26, 2007

We are all well aware what would have been on the list of the 50 worst moments in Madison Square Garden history.

But did you know that Pearl Washington garners the 47th greatest ‘moment’ for his performances vs. St. John’s and in the Big East Tournament during his career? We need to remember the man whose sensational play helped propel Syracuse into being the (sometimes) dominant team and the Big East into the (sometimes) dominant conference they are today.

I was disappointed that Gerry McNamara’s surreal performance in last year’s Big East tournament didn’t make the cut. That had to be at least as exciting as Sun Myung Moon marrying 1500 couples, right?

A box of props to Jeremy for remembering a forgotten SU star. In my opinion, Pearl could have been the greatest player ever from SU, had he been able to mature off the court.
